Assignment 1
Documentation of Building Plan Submission
This assignment requires students to work collaboratively in groups to develop a comprehensive set of architectural working drawings for a selected Architectural Design V project. The process begins with researching and understanding the statutory requirements imposed by relevant authorities, including the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) and local fire safety regulations, and integrating these requirements into the design. We are also expected to investigate appropriate structural systems, construction methods, building materials, and relevant technologies to ensure that the proposed design is technically feasible and buildable. Building upon this research, the project is translated into a complete set of architectural working drawings prepared for Building Plan submission. All drawings must comply with local authority requirements while following established working drawing conventions and contemporary architectural practice, demonstrating a thorough understanding of technical documentation, regulatory compliance, and construction detailing.
Assignment 2
Project Proposal Report
This project demonstrates the integration of architectural project management principles with professional practice through the development of a comprehensive project proposal. It explores the roles and responsibilities of the project team, evaluates design suitability and project viability using analytical frameworks such as SWOT and PESTLE, and applies project management tools to support effective planning, communication, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. The project also examines strategies for responding to changing client requirements while incorporating a structured approach to risk management, ensuring the successful delivery of the proposed architectural development.
